This started as an interesting experiment using Splat!. The idea was to generate some audio based on the Linux kernel Git history. After a long period of sporadic research and hacking around, I've finally reached some initial result. It's a rather complicated topic so I've written a dedicated blog post about it.
Meanwhile you can just listen to the resulting noise. Basically, every "note" or piece of sound represents one change in the Linux kernel between v5.16 and v5.17. There are 14,200 of them, and the audio track lasts 4 minutes so wait for the big fireworks around the end. Enjoy, and see you around for the next kernel release v5.18 hopefully with some new sounds.
